There are still some basics that you must know when you first get your learning permit. Know that all states have their own requirements, and are usually easily available where you obtain your learners permit.

• First, and this is the biggest one: A parent, guardian or adult of at least 18 years of age (21 or even higher in some states) with a valid driver's license, must be with you at all times when you are driving and must also be in the front passenger seat next to you. • Many states will only allow for the driver with the learners permit to be accompanied by one passenger (see the criteria above).
